Silver Adventures: Wildflower Hike
April 23 @ 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
Outdoor Chattanooga’s Silver Adventure this month will lead participants along The Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail. This trail features a quarter-mile-long handicap-accessible boardwalk, protecting the delicate wildflowers. Beyond the boardwalk, we will continue on a rugged easy/moderate section that extends along a mountain stream to Pocket Creek Falls, offering a 0.9-mile round-trip hike with abundant wildflowers. Additional wildflowers can be spotted along the Pocket Loop Trail and in other areas of the Pocket. For those seeking a longer adventure, the 9-mile Pocket Loop Trail leads to High Point on Pigeon Mountain. Wildflowers should have a show this time of year!
Outdoor Chattanooga will provide transportation to and from the trailhead. We do not, unfortunately, have the ability to transport wheelchairs so if you would like to join for the handicap-accessible boardwalk, you are welcome to meet us at the trailhead.
This program is free but a day use fee is required for the Shirley Miller Wildflower Trail. The cost is $5 per person for Georgia residents, and $10 per person for Tennessee residents. Registered participants will meet at the Patton Community Center at 3202 Kellys Ferry Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37419.
*PLEASE NOTE* We changed our registration system on 3/4/2024 to a new software called Xplor Recreation. Even if you have participated in our programs in the past, you will have to make a new account and sign the waiver. If you need any assistance, check out this guide.
