Learn techniques and rules of the road for being a confident and predictable commuter, city or road cyclist.

Learn to Bike Commute is the best first step towards learning how to drive your bicycle in traffic. Outdoor Chattanooga instructors use the League of American Bicyclists curriculum to teach you the techniques on how to ride safely and predictably on the road. Using video tutorials, a Q&A, and an optional group ride, our instructors can help you learn the basic rules and techniques for driving your bicycle in traffic. This free class is offered at Outdoor Chattanooga. Reservations required in advance.

League of American Bicyclists curriculum teaches:

-Lane positioning and changing
-Signaling and scanning
-Basic bicycle safety and helmet check
Class will be followed by an optional practice ride (in good weather).
Open to adults and kids ages 14 and older (when accompanied by an adult).
All participants must be able to ride a bicycle.
