Peaceful summer mornings play host to solo rowers, who seek the calm waters and fresh air of the river valley.
In the autumn, those same waters churn from the oars of club, prep and collegiate teams, who flock to Chattanooga for the Chattanooga Head Race and the Head of the Hooch, the nation's largest single day regatta.
Both organizations base their activities out of the William G. Raoul Rowing Center, only 1 mile from downtown Chattanooga along Tennessee Riverpark greenway.
