The Ocoee River is the Southeast's iconic whitewater stream, providing 10 miles of seriously challenging whitewater in a spectacular mountain setting.

Served by two dozen commercial rafting companies, the Ocoee contains two sections, the Upper and Middle. Trips run on either section or for a longer trip, both sections.

The Class IV Upper Ocoee section includes the Olympic whitewater course and contains highly technical rapids, even when run in guided rafts.

The Class III-IV Middle Ocoee section is the best first time run in a guided raft. Full of big, bouncy rapids, there are also several spots for swimming, spinning and generally getting wet.

NOTE: The Ocoee River is dam controlled. Rafting outfitters only run during recreational releases.
