This 22 mile trail system winds around the Tennessee Valley Authority's Raccoon Mountain Pumped Storage Facility, 15 minutes from downtown Chattanooga.
The trails offer a variety of wooded settings and natural features, including spectacular vistas of the Tennessee River Valley and Gorge.
Raccoon Mountain offers multiple loops of varying distances for runners. The loop road surrounding the reservoir offers a 4.6 mile paved option with spectacular scenery and a couple of good climbs.
The Laurel Point area also provides a picnic area, rest rooms, and an outdoor changing area for hikers, mountain bikers and trail runners.
