Tubing. Put on your swimsuit, slather on the sunscreen, grab a tube and head down the Hiwassee river or Ocoee River.
The dam controlled Hiwassee River is a wide, class II+ mountain river, with large pools and lightly challenging rapids. Thread the Needle, Big Bend and Devil's Shoals can provide the entire family with a thrilling day of cool, mountain water.
The lower Ocoee River, also dam controlled, features fast moving water over light shoals on it's final run to Parksville Lake.
The Tellico River is a narrower, wilder stream that flows gently into the town of Tellico Plains from the Cherokee National Forest.
Look under "Organizations" to find tubing outfitters that serve all three rivers or click "Complete Details" on individual rivers.
