


High Point Trailhead
Steep ascent to top, then fairly flat. This is a one-way trail, not a loop trail. This is part of the Pinhoti Trail system that goes from Dalton, GA, to connect with the Appalachian Trail in Alabama. Horses are not allowed on some portions of the trail. There is no water along the trail for horses. Camping not allowed in parking lot, but is allowed on Forest Service lands.

Hwy 27 South to Summerville. Turn right on Hwy 100 (note: Hwy 100 makes a turn to the left shortly, so watch for it.) From your initial turn onto Hwy 100, go 8 miles. Just after mile marker 8, watch for the brown wooden Pinhoti Trail on the left. Large gravel parking lot.
