Chattanooga Head Race

Date: October 8, 2005

Time: 8:30 a.m.

2005 marks the 13th annual Chattanooga Head Race. This is a big event and a great sponsorship opportunity.   The event will be staged and housed entirely at the new Ross Landing.  The City has provided new rowing docks for the event, and we expect the size of the race to double over the next 3 - 5 years.

The event will be held October 7th and 8th, beginning with a dinner for participants and sponsors that Friday night -live music and a festival atmosphere.  On Race Day - Saturday, October 8th - racing begins at 8:30 AM and continues through out the day, usually ending around 4 PM.

Ross' Landing will be full of high school, college, and even masters rowers with over 300 rowing shells (boats) on site.  3 - 5,000 spectators will fill Ross' Landing, the Riverwalk, and the Walnut Street Bridge.   Food and beverage will be available on site, and the announcer will keep all informed of the status of events and other happenings through out the day!
