Toccoa River
Recreational paddling - this stream meanders through a mix of private land and National Forest land. The National Forest has established a canoe trail on this river and it has several access points. This river generally holds decent water for year-round paddling, especially from Dial to Aska Rd., a minimum of 200 cfs recommended for that stretch, more for any upstream stretches. A pleasant overnighter can be made by putting in at Deep Hole and running to either Shallowford Bridge or Party Rock Rapid on Aska Rd. A good campsite is just downstream of the overused area by the Benton-MacKaye swinging bridge on river right, which is easily accessible only by water. Tubing and rafting is available through Toccoa Valley Campground, 11481 Aska Rd., Blue Ridge, GA 30513 706/838-4317
