Recreational paddling - this is a beautiful stream whose banks are unfortunately becoming inundated with homes. The main put-in is on Lower Cartecay Rd., with 2 options for taking out: just below Blackberry (about a 2 - 2 ½ mile run) and to the DNR which adds quite a few river miles but has a relatively short shuttle. The Blackberry takeout has minimal to no parking so arrangements should be made with either the Cartecay River Experience or River Right for a shuttle. Cartecay River Experience and RiverRight also rent boats and can provide guided trips.
