This short class focuses on the basics of vehicular cycling, or driving your bicycle in city traffic. With some short video examples and Q&A, participants will receive an introduction to the rules of the road, lane positioning and basic road riding technique.
No bicycle necessary.
Class is appropriate for adults and kids ages 12 and older when accompanied by an adult.

Traffic Skills 101
Saturday, Mar. 10

Cost: $10 (for materials)
PRE-REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Traffic Skills 101 gives cyclists the confidence they need to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The course covers bicycle safety checks, fixing a flat, on-bike skills and crash avoidance techniques and includes a student manual. 
Classroom instruction in the morning is combined with parking lot drills and on road training in the afternoon.
Appropriate for adults and children age 16 and older. Classroom instruction may be completed independently online.
Pre-registration is required. Limit: 10.

League Cycling Instructor Seminar

Taught by the League of American Bicyclists
Becoming a League of American Bicyclists League Cycling Instructor (LCI) certified to teach Smart Cycling is a great way to help cyclists and motor vehicle operators in and around Chattanooga.
Certified instructors can teach Smart Cycling classes to children as well as adults, either in conjunction with already established safe cycling courses or as an independent instructor. 
If you are an experienced cyclist and would like to teach others please consider taking the next step towards certification.
Join the League of American Bicyclists and take a Traffic Skills 101 class as a pre-requisite.
Instructor: Preston Tyree, former Director of Education for the League of American Bicyclists.
Class Schedule:
Friday: 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Saturday: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
