Our Winter Workshop series features introductory classes and seminars that help participants engage in outdoor activities, live an outdoor lifestyle and protect the environment in which we all live and play.
Workshops are held every Thursday night, 6:00 p.m., at Outdoor Chattanooga in Coolidge Park.

Herbalist Holli Richey from the Center for Integrative Medicine will teach about the safe, edible weeds that grow in your own back yard. Participants will learn how to prepare common weeds into nutritious delicacies. Wild food taste test included.

Former TWRA wildlife officer and bat expert Mike Bailey will offer plans and construction tips for building bat boxes and attracting bats to your back yard.

Preserving Your Land in a Conservation Trust
Tricia King, Southeast Region Project Manager for The Land Trust for Tennessee, will talk about the benefits of preserving your land through a conservation easement. Learn the step-by-step process of donating a conservation easement as well as the potential financial benefits to a landowner under the tax code. A good workshop for private landowners,accountants, estate planners and attorneys.

Introduction to Backpacking the Cumberland Trail
TN State Park Ranger Bobby Fulcher and Outdoor Chattanooga staffer Trevor Childress will offer the basic tools and information that you need to start backpacking the Cumberland Trail, which begins its path northward in Chattanooga.

Urban Rocks Gym and Outdoor Chattanooga will offer up the basic tools and information that beginners need to start climbing. Class followed by a session on Outdoor Chattanooga's traverse climbing wall.
