Are you ready to skydive? Here's the skinny on your first tandem skydive:

A skydiving harness designed to carry to people is used. The tandem instructor wears the harness and container into which is packed main and reserve ram-air (inflatable wing) parachutes. You wear only a harness. You are secured to the tandem instructor by four attachment points.
Before your dive, you'll be briefed. During the briefing you will learn how to exit the aircraft, the proper skydiving body position, how to use an altimeter, and how to deploy the main parachute. After the briefing, you board an aircraft and climb to 5,000 feet. You free fall 4,000 feet, which will take approximately 40 seconds, and then deploy the main parachute. During the free fall you will experience flying on a cushion of air and will practice your free fall skills. Following deployment you will learn to fly the parachute.
