Outdoor Chattanooga's Kayak Adventures

2010

Outdoor Chattanooga invites the public to  a series of free adventures and low-cost guided excursions. Trips are designed for all skill levels, and will take place from April through October, 2010.

Dowtown Group Kayak Trips
Reservations Required



See downtown Chattanooga by Kayak
 The trips are designed for adults and kids ages and 14 and older in individual boats, kids ages eight and older when in tandem with a parent or guardian. 


Boats, gear, and guides are provided.

The tours will go around Maclellan Island, by the Museum bluffs and the Passage. All trips are contingent on weather and
Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) river flows.

June 4, 5, 11, 12,18,19, 25, 26
July 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 31
August 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27, 28
September 3, 4, 10, 11, 17, 18, 24, 25

9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Cost: $35 adults/$25 kids ages 8-13
Children ages 8-13 must paddle in tandem with an adult

Rock/Creek Kayak Adventures - 2010

So you tried kayaking and liked it.
Now, join one of our longer excursions on area lakes and rivers. Rock/Creek will bring expertise and the newest toys to tempt your inner gear head.
All trips are appropriate for adults and kids ages 14 and older when accompanied by an adult.
Some kayaking experience is required.

Outdoor Chattanooga/Tennessee Aquarium Guided Trips - 2010
Reservations Required




These trips, in partnership with the Tennessee Aquarium, offer participants the chance to explore the waters all around Chattanooga. All trips are geared for adults and children ages 14 and older, and all equipment, guides, and transportation (when needed) are provided. Call the Tennessee Aquarium at (423) 267-3474 or visit the Tennessee Aquarium Website for more information or to make a reservation.

*Sunset Kayak Trip
A kayak trip around downtown Chattanooga, including Maclellan Island, the Bluff, the Passage, and Coolidge Park. 

*Touring Kayak Clinics
Learn kayaking basics like proper paddling techniques, how to adjust, enter and exit a boat, safety guidelines and what to do if you turn over. Dress to get wet.

*WOW: Women on the Water
Ladies, strap on a pair of water sandals and join Outdoor Chattanooga for a laid-back adventure on local rivers and lakes with other women. All equipment is provided, including a female guide. Adult women only.

*Full Moon Paddle
Paddle by the light of the full moon around the islands of Harrison Bay. All equipment, transport, snack and beverage are included. Adults only.

*Tennessee River Gorge Paddle
Paddle the Tennessee River Blueway through the heart of the Tennessee River Gorge, ending at the Tennessee River Gardens, a private nature reserve.

*Nickajack Bat Cave Paddle
From a seat in a kayak, explore Nickajack Lake and watch 100,000 endangered gray bats exit the Nickajack Cave.
